This policy will be revised yearly during Management Reviews for continual adequacy with the General Policy of the Nursery.

When choosing a Nursery for your child ensure that you acquire information which will enable you to make informed choices. We have listed some examples to assist you:
1. Is the daycare certified from the Minestry of Health? Does the daycare hve a full time Nurse?
2. Ask about the qualifications of the manager/staff. How many staff holds a current First Aid/Food Hygiene/Health and Safety Certificate?
3. Confirm that the staff ratios are correct and ask what arrangements are made when a staff member is ill or on holiday.
4. Is there is an outdoor play area including some all-weather surface and safety surface? Do the children have their own segregated safe area for outdoor play?
5. What security measures are in place, and are there written procedures regarding the collection of your child?
6. How do I know what my child has been doing all day?
7. Ask about parental involvement/communication. Is there a newsletter, open day, special events?
8. Are children relaxed and happy and involved in stimulating activities or content in having some well earned rest?
9. Do the staff take the children on trips or to places of interest? Ask to see a record of these.
10. Are the meals freshly prepared and how does the Nursery cater for individual dietary needs?
